«No Barriers to Equality – BODE Project»
This week we will conclude the first part of our workshops and training on advocacy, which was intended primarily for people with a migrant background in Slovenia.
Participants learned mainly:
1-The theory of advocacy,
2-Practical examples,
3-Tools of advocacy campaigns.
Besides, Urša Regvar from PIC – Legal Center for the Protection of Human Rights and the Environment gave us a seminar about:
1- The basic rights of various migrants statuses in Slovenia,
2- Last changes in the Aliens Act and,
3- We had a long Q&A session with participants.
At the same time, in one of the workshops, we had about “WordPress”.
1- We learned what is WordPress in detail and why we need it,
2- Everyone learned how to set up their first WordPress website,
3- We learned how in what ways we can use WordPress as a display of one of the tools of advocacy campaigns,
4- We also learned the details of using social media channels as a tool for advocacy campaigns.
There were more than 120 active participants overall during our workshops and there were participants from 9 different countries: Mexico, Iran, Peru, Turkey, Albania, Afghanistan, Croatia, Slovenia, and Italy.
On Sunday 26.6. we will end the first part of our workshops with a picnic at 11.30 am on Njegoševa 15 (ADRA Slovenia), where we also invite you to participate.
