What is Intercultural Dialogue Association (MKD)?

Intercultural Dialogue Association (MKD) is a non-governmental organization, established in 2007 in Ljubljana. Its mission is to promote social cohesion, dialogue, and community connections.
MKD operates through discussions, educational programs, publications, and awareness-raising activities. It is neither a religious nor an ethnic organization and advocates for democracy, human rights, equality, and freedom of speech.
The Association also implements internal and international projects that involve local communities, migrants, and other vulnerable groups.

What are the largest projects in which the MKD Association is involved?

We have participated in the BODE and BODE+ projects, completed the international project HUMELODY, and implemented the Pop the Bubbles project.
Every year, we take part in commemorating international days and organize open iftar dinners during Ramadan.

What kind of activities does the MKD Association organize?

We organize intercultural cooking workshops, a conversation circle for foreigners, hiking events called Walk & Talk, monthly Turkish breakfasts, and crocheting and knitting workshops.
Every month, we also collaborate with Radio Študent through the show Enolončnica, giving a voice to migrants in Slovenia.
We organize annual evenings featuring Noe’s pudding, festive dinners in December, and open iftar dinners during Ramadan. In the 2025/2026 season, we are participating in international discussions through the Dialogue Talks series with our international partner organizations.
