ROUND TABLE MEETING WITH THE MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS AND NGOs for the “New Migration Policy of Slovenia”

The New Migration Policy of Slovenia Will be Based On Solidarity, Inclusion, and Respect for Human Rights said the new Minister of Internal Affairs Tatjana Bobnar.

Yesterday, as an Intercultural Dialogue Association we were invited to the meeting that the Ministry of Internal Affairs organized.

It was the first meeting of the Consultative Body for Migration which was attended by representatives of state bodies, non-governmental and international organizations, and civil society working in the field of migration.

In her presentation, Tatjana Bobnar said that “the migration policy will be designed comprehensively and directed towards the person in order to preserve his dignity”.

The consultative body which will work for the migration policies of Slovenia will be based on three pillars, namely the dialogue with civil society, the upgrading of the strategy for the comprehensive management of migration, and the renewal of the field legislation.

“At the ministry, we are receptive to all the right solutions,” the minister Mrs. Bobnar emphasized and said that “from now on, we work as a team capable of respectful and open dialogue.”

It is an honor for us to be a part of this distinguished, qualified, and talented team.

Thank you for having such an inclusive and open approach to solving the specific problems of Slovenia.
