Wishing you a peaceful Hanukkah

On the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah, we remember the story of light, perseverance, and hope. During Hanukkah, we are reminded that even a small light can drive away darkness, and that faith, identity, and dignity can endure even in the most difficult times. At the Intercultural Dialogue Association, we understand this holiday as an opportunity for cultures and religions to meet, and for shared reflection on the values that connect us: respect, peace, and solidarity.

Our association recognizes the importance of interfaith dialogue, which is why we actively participate in it and build connections with other religious communities. Different religious traditions do not divide us; rather, through conversation and mutual understanding, they often teach us a deeper understanding of the world and of one another.

On the occasion of Hanukkah, we wish to express our respect for the Jewish community and emphasize that peace and coexistence are built through openness, listening, and humanity.

At the same time, we cannot overlook the painful event that took place yesterday in Australia. The courage of Ahmed Al Ahmed, who saved lives through his actions, reminds us that true faith never stands on the side of hatred. When Muslims and Jews choose dignity over extremism, humanity remains possible.

May the remaining days of Hanukkah be a time of solidarity, not fear and misunderstanding. At the Intercultural Dialogue Association, we believe that it is precisely in such moments that genuine dialogue is born — and with it, hope for a more inclusive future.
