Successful Music Workshop

Tuesday, June 3rd 2025, MKD Association quarters

Last Tuesday we held a music workshop as part of the Humelody project. Mentors Guillermo and Katarina introduced us to the lively traditional music style cumbia, which comes from Colombia. We learned the basic rhythms and experienced the joy of playing together. We observed how individual rhythmic beats, when combined, transform into something greater than the sum of their parts.

As part of the HUMELODY project, we gathered for a music workshop at the MKD Association premises. We designed the workshop for young migrants.

At the workshop, voices from different cultures came together in celebration of human rights through music. Participants were able to relax and have fun in our association’s space, while also contemplating the meaning of human rights.

At the workshop, we also explored a traditional Slovenian song and transformed it by replacing parts of the lyrics with human rights that we want to see more in our lives. Through this collective expression, we shared powerful stories and messages that remind us of our common values and dreams.
