Let’s speak Slovene! Practice circle.

Our free language circle has been on our weeky agenda since this past January. There is a lot of interest in participation, and the levels of language knowledge vary among the participants, so we have expanded the circle to 2 groups.

We meet in the premises of the Intercultural Dialogue Association every Tuesday and Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Beginners (A1) are invited to practice conversation on Tuesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Meetings with intermediates who can communicate at the A2/B1 level take place on Wednesdays between 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Tuesday’s beginner group still has some room left, so we kindly invite new participants to join us.
Our group of intermediate participants on Wednesdays, we are proud to announce, has a large number of active participants, attending every week.

The programme is intended for foreign speakers of Slovene who have already attended one of the official Slovene language courses, but do not have enough opportunities to practice speaking in Slovenian. At the initial meetings, our participants confirmed that they understand Slovenian speakers, but they themselves have difficulties in expressing and forming sentences.

Intermediate conversation club this past Wednesday, 23rd of April 2025.

We met again this week after a short break. Since we hadn’t seen each other for 3 weeks, we had a lot of catching up to do! This time, as usual, our mentor brought texts to read and discuss, but we spent a larger amount of time conversing. Our intermediate participants, who spoke in Slovenian throughout the 90 minutes, are originally from Egypt, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Turkey, England and Sudan.

Our language circles take place in a relaxed atmosphere, because in addition to the conversation, we enjoy a sip of Turkish tea and some sweets that go with it. Participants are keen to share with us, that they enjoy the circle and that it presents a great opportunity to upgrade their knowledge of the Slovenian language.
