Lets Read Slovene

We started our Let’s Read Slovene ‘’LRS’’ club 2 months ago at the beginning of June. Our main targets with reading Slovenian storybooks were:

  • Upgrading our reading skills,
  • Upgrading our pronunciation skills,
  • Enriching our vocabulary in the Slovene language.

In this direction, we gathered with international friends of the dialogue association 8 times. They were from 8 different countries:

  • USA🇺🇸
  • England🇬🇧
  • Italy🇮🇹
  • Brazil🇧🇷
  • Belgium🇧🇪
  • Russia🇷🇺
  • Moldova🇲🇩
  • Bangladesh🇧🇩

There were more than 3️⃣5️⃣participants in 8️⃣meetings and we spent 1️⃣6️⃣hours reading Slovene🇸🇮 storybooks.

We learned around 3️⃣0️⃣0️⃣new Slovene words during these 2 months and we enjoyed the high-quality international atmosphere.

We learn Slovene because learning the local language is the most important part of the integration.

Besides, we believe also in dialogue can solve every problem in this world. In order to have a real dialogue with local people, we need to speak the local language.

What we did with the reading book was just a little brick to build a bridge between locals and us but if you want to build something great you must start with the little brick.
