On Wednesday, May 8, we organized a workshop on rights advocacy and innovative methods in rights advocacy with ADRA Slovenia and Gmajna Cultural Association, our partners in the BODE + project, at the office of ADRA Slovenia.
In the program, Furkan Güner from the Intercultural Dialogue Association talked about advocacy and what was done in theory and practice in our previous project BODE.
Afterwards, he shared the activities of our dialogue association in the intercultural field on being visible and active, which is one of the most important methods of advocacy.
Then Romana Zajec, our guest from APIS institute and also our project supporter, talked about innovative methods in advocacy, projects and activities with migrants in the field of art and technology.
At the end Katja Utrosa from Gmajna Cultural Association talked about one of the important goals of this project, which is to improve Slovenian language education and vegan and vegetarian food in schools.
We asked the participants to support our project with ideas and participation for 2 different petitions and press releases in June and September.
In focus groups, we listened to the experiences of the migrant community on these issues and their suggestions for solutions.
About 20 people from 5 different nationalities participated in the activity and the program was very interactive.
We would like to thank our project partners ADRA Slovenia and Gmajna Cultural Association, the project financing organization Impact4Values and all the participants who participated and supported us to become a more active citizen in Slovenia.
Together, hand in hand, to a more peaceful society where everyone has more equal opportunities.
