Eid al Adha (Qurban), meaning the Feast of Sacrifice, is a time to renew faith in God in the footsteps of Abraham. In Semitic languages, the word Qorban / Kurban means getting closer, first of all to God, our Creator, but also to approach the Jews and Christians who share Abraham’s faith, recognizing him as the common Patriarch.
Then again, approaching the needy, the next, to all humanity, always in the example of Abraham to Mamre, who welcomes strangers with great generosity.
