Intercultural Walk Along the PST

Yesterday, together with friends of different nationalities, we walked the PST – the Path of Remembrance and Comradeship, one of Ljubljana’s most recognizable trails, symbolizing the liberation of the city from Italian fascism while preserving the memory of important events in Slovenian history.

The hike brought together a diverse group of participants from as many as eight different countries and nationalities. The event was not only a recreational activity, but above all an opportunity for intercultural connection, the exchange of experiences, and the strengthening of mutual understanding.

We started our journey at 6:00 in the morning and finished around 2:00 in the afternoon. Over approximately eight hours of walking, we covered many kilometers together, while also learning about the history of Ljubljana, the significance of the PST, and Slovenia’s rich cultural and sporting heritage.

A special value of the hike was brought by participants from different countries, who shared stories from their home environments along the way, introduced their customs and cultures, and contributed to a warm and open atmosphere. It was precisely this diversity that made this year’s hike an especially rich and unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

On a day that symbolizes freedom, resistance against totalitarian regimes, and the importance of community, we were especially glad to spend this time together – united in respect for history, friendship, and shared values.

Events like this continually remind us how important dialogue, cooperation, and mutual understanding between people of different cultures truly are.

Given the extremely positive response from participants, we will organize the hike again next year. We warmly welcome everyone who would like to join us and help co-create another meaningful story of connection.
