This year again, the Intercultural Dialogue Society took part in the celebrations in Žirovnica, where Slovenians commemorate their cultural holiday and honor France Prešeren, one of the nation’s greatest cultural symbols.
Our journey began at the birthplace of Matija Čop, an important figure in Slovenian history. We then visited the Avenue of Famous Men, the beehive of Anton Janša—the first Slovenian beekeeper of world-class renown—and finally, the birthplace of the great poet France Prešeren.

A group of 14 participants from five different countries enriched their day with a 12 km intercultural hike through the villages of Žirovnica and Vrba.
At the Intercultural Dialogue Society, we believe that by deepening our knowledge of different cultures and fostering dialogue, we can better understand one another and show greater respect for each other’s values. A world in which mutual respect prevails would undoubtedly be a happier place to live.
We sincerely thank all participants and supporters.
