Edvard Rusjan was a Slovenian pilot, constructor, and pioneer of aviation, and made his last flight in Belgrade.
It ended tragically. Rusjan’s plane smashed under the Belgrade fortress Kalemegdan, where a memorial plaque has stood until now.
Finally, a monument to Slovenian aviation pioneer Edvard Rusjan in Belgrade has been erected with the great efforts of Veleposlaništvo Slovenije v Beogradu/ Ambasada Slovenije u Beogradu, Letalska zveza Slovenije, Aviation Club Gorica, and Aviation Association of Serbia.
It is a big promising and big step toward building better ties and relationships between Slovenia and Serbia. This kind of effort and project gives a lot of thinking about mutual understanding and tolerance between nations.
We congratulate those who have contributed to this great job they have done.
